A VISUAL POEM

Omusota (Luganda for snake) is a visual poem that questions post-colonial views on dark-skinned bodies, elevating the strength and resilience carried by those. Omusota was shot in Kampala, Uganda in 2021 during lockdown and approaches cinepoetry in an intuitive way.

Omusota premiered at the International Poetry Film Festival of Thuringia in Weimar, Germany in 2022
